Privacy

The short version: your files never leave your device. Here is the long version, including the parts that are not about your files.

Your files

Files you open in the editor are read by your browser, on your device. They are not uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload them to: every operation — reading, checking, editing, undo, conversion and export — happens inside your own browser tab.

You can verify this without taking our word for it: disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and carry on working. Everything still functions, because nothing was ever going anywhere.

What is stored on your device

To make the editor usable across sessions, some data is stored locally. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

  • Your recent files and their autosaved contents, so an accidentally closed tab does not lose your work.
  • Your preferences: theme, light or dark mode, language, and your advertising choice.

All of it is kept by your browser, on this device, and never sent anywhere. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes every last piece of it. The editor also lets you remove a file from the recents list, which deletes its stored copy immediately.

Analytics

This site measures page views, using Vercel Web Analytics — the same company that serves the pages. It records which page was opened, the address of the link that led here, an approximate country, and the kind of device and browser. Nothing else.

It is cookieless: no cookie is set and nothing is written to your browser’s storage for it.

Visits are grouped by an identifier derived from your request, salted with a value that is discarded and regenerated every day. That is what stops it from becoming a profile: after a day there is no way to connect a visit to any earlier one, and no way to connect it to your activity on any other site.

There is no session recording, no heat map, no persistent fingerprint and no advertising use of any of it.

None of it touches your files. What you open, edit, or export is never part of any measurement — that work happens entirely in your browser and there is nothing to report.

Advertising

Content pages — the landing page, the guides and the conversion pages — carry advertising from Google AdSense. This pays for the domain and hosting and is what keeps the editor free.

The advertising script is not loaded until you consent to it. Until then, no request is made to Google’s ad servers from this site and no advertising cookie is set.

If you consent, Google may set cookies and use them to personalise the advertising you see. Google acts as an independent data controller for this; its handling is governed by Google’s own policies, not by this one.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops the script from loading on subsequent page views.

Advertising is never shown inside the editor’s file area, and the editor works identically whether you consent or not.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own — not for sessions, not for preferences, not for analytics. Your preferences are kept in your browser’s own storage, which is never sent along with a request.

The only cookies that can appear are those set by Google AdSense, and only after you have consented.

Hosting

The pages themselves come from a hosting provider. Like any web host, it handles the address your request arrives from in order to send the page back, and may keep short-lived operational logs. That is an unavoidable part of serving a web page, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

Your rights

Because no personal data about you is collected or stored on any server under this site’s control, there is no account to access, correct or delete. Everything the site knows about you is on your own device, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes all of it.

For any request concerning advertising data, Google is the controller and its own process applies.

Children

This site is a technical tool with no social features and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page will change and the consent choice will be requested again.
